LGA1150 Socket CPU compatible with Arctic Freezer 13? (non-co edition)

    Hello all

Building a new setup around a LGA1150 socket motherboard and deciding on a i7 new CPU, and there seems to be some confusion on if my old cooler (Arctic Freezer 13) ,will fit LGA1150 socket motherboard and hoping the good people of Hexus could assist, in case anyone has this setup or knows anyone else that does?

So according the official Arctic site it does not mention that it is compatible http://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/freezer-13.html -but not sure if that's because they have not updated detail about latest sockets/and/or they want to push the revised freezer13co http://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/freezer-13-co.html instead for latest builds.

According to these comments it should fit fine...

Overclockers website mentions it is compatible with 1150 in its description of it here...
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=HS-039-AR

So all abit confusing, anyone currently running this setup and working fine? Thanks in advance for any help/advice on this.

Re: LGA1150 Socket CPU compatible with Arctic Freezer 13? (non-co edition)

It is compatible with socket 1156 and 1155, therefore it is compatible with socket 1150. The mounting holes (and the cpu packages in general) of those two and 1150 are exactly the same.

The downside is that the mounting of the Arctic is awful as it uses the default type click mechanism. I would never buy an Arctic cooler just because of this. Their higher class products have very shaky mounts as well.

Yeah, it works and works well.

Disagree with the above poster. The mounting was extremely easy and feels very solid.
