has anyone got the the H80i?
I'm planning to get this, but the reviews on this cooler is mixed.
if you got this cooler, do you recommend it or recommend something else?

It depends on what you are planning to use the cooler for. Assuming you will be using it with at least an overclockable Intel i5, a H80i will give you very nice thermal performance . If you don't plan to overclock, this is total overkill. One issue some people have is the extra noise created by the pump. If acoustic performance is important to you, you might want to look at other, air based solutions, like the Noctua NH-D15 (Case size permitting) which offers very similar performance at a very similar price, and is effectively silent at all normal loads (the only time it's been audible to me is when running Prime95).
I don't recommend it. LEDs don't stay the colour your choose, fans don't stay at the speed you choose. Plus side is that cooling is great and it looks really good too. It's the software that stops me recommending this product; it never works!

I haven't had the same problem MrRockliffe had, but I've had plenty of my own. First, I had to install an old beta version of Corsair Link (as instructed by a support rep.) for it to work, I also had to reinstall CL a couple of times for it to work. Those are some fairly minor issues compared to the 3 RMAs I had with the H80i. First issue was with the crap quality radiator screw holes (they were stripped instantly). Second one was because of god awful heat transfer between the CPU IHS and waterblock (liquid temp was at ambient while CPU was overheating). Third one had a nasty power issue, the pump, LED and fans strobed very rapidly and caused a grinding sound. After that they sent me an H105 (because they literally ran out of H80i units to send me) which had a rattling/grinding pump. My 2nd H105 arrived yesterday and it actually seems to be fine. Customer support was harder to work with than I probably made out.
I'd recommend the Phanteks PH-TC14PE. It got me to 4.3GHz with 1.385v on my 4670K keeping at 70C under full load when the H80i couldn't touch it for performance.
The upside of these coolers is that they run very well on low RPMs.
TL;DR: from my experience with Corsair coolers I would not recommend them
Idon't have the H80i but I do have the H80. No problems with the cooling my cpu runs at 4.6 and rarely tops 65c while gaming. I do have lots of air flow in my case. It is a little noisy at times but I game with a headset.
Must say iv used 3 h80i and 4 h100i and never had any trouble with hardware just dont expect corsair link software to work with windows 8 or 8.1.
Just ordered one myself for a 2011-3 / 5820k cpu .. new build.. planning to role out windows 8.1 onto the new machine..
I will keep you informed
There is a fix I found for the LEDs and stuff, it requires you to flash 1.05 firmware for the pumps (instead of the 'upgraded' 1.07 that it upgrades to when you install the software). Then if the software doesn't show up, there is a registry fix but corsair don't support this fix. Only problem is, it requires plugging it into a USB header on the motherboard and I don't have any spare.
