What games does it struggle with, and what graphics card are you using?
Well the K chip will allow you to overclock it. Doing that would get more out of the 3570. Really making it work the upgrade.
According to CPU boss, the new chip is better but not as much as you would think in stock speed.

I don't think it is worth going from a 2400 to a 3570 even if you are getting a K series with overclocking, you are only moving up one generation, with a 4690K you will be moving up two generations and there is another generation on the way if you can wait that little bit longer. Also it's not worth upgrading your CPU in anticipation for a game, get the game first and find out if your CPU can cope or not, then if it aint broke, don't fix it, as they say.
I would agree that there isn't any point trying to predict performance.
Generally I think if a 2400 can't play a game, then a 3570 won't be enough improvement to make any difference, take a look here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/363?vs=701
Are you intending to overclock? That is where any difference will be. Some of us can't be fussed with overclocking, it is like a hobby in itself.
Will the OP's motherboard even allow an overclock ? if he got a non-k chip in the first place I'd suspect a non-Z series board at any rate. Can any of the others be clocked ?
Better to save longer and move up board and chip to whatever latest generation is at that point, and get any recent tech benefits.
Looking at the specs - the 4690K is a good CPU - yes, it does have unlocked multiplier - I would also never use stock cooler, one question is how old your PC build is - the option of a new MB/CPU may be cost effective, however the CPU only will allow an instant performance increase - although your GPU is good, so the CPU may be a bottleneck, the improvement may be slightly reduced, but as few games are really hyperthreaded enabled (I think) the i5 is a good option for gaming together with a solid mid GPU card.
