That fan what comes with the 3700X....

Okay, so I am buying a new (overdue) rig with the 3700.

I'm taking a risk and buying a X570 (the risk being the noise when doing low stress work).

But... how good is that fan, as in silence? I'm wondering and prepared to buy a quieter fan but don't like the waste (the plastic, etc - I can and will spend £100 for a quieter rig) though of having that fan and chucking it out.

I suppose I can wait and see, but after a long time now I've finally decided to do it and have spend 10s of hours pouring over this and other tech sites and my spreadsheet, I'm feeling impatient...

Cheers for any thoughts on the matter!

(from someone who's always clicked on hardware reviews on rockpapershotgun, but not worshiped at the alter of PC component sites... lest I spend _all_ my money )

Not sure but if you're like me and only want a base of 4Ghz with PBO then it should be fine.

You'll definitely be able to get a much quieter cooler, but don't expect much in terms of performance or overclocking headroom

I think you need to ask a X570 owner.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

The Wraith Prism that came with the 3700x is very good. Just make sure you create a custom fan curve for it

The Stock Cooler (Wraith Prism) is better when you use it in the stock settings. You wont need to change unless you need to start overclocking you will need a better cooler. there are many option bulky big cooler or an AIO.

I've got the stock cooler running on a 3700x and a 3900x, both run fairly quietly. The sound is more noticable on the 3900x, so I'm considering switching that for something else, but thats probably because its having to do more work!

Oh, I saw this then totally forgot to do it.

Generally I can't hear the fan at all, it's only in games I do, and then it needs to be quiet (roaming around and not shooting in Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to do that particular trick - most games have noise throughout though!)

But yeah, I do use it as stock MvSlainXVII, so that's not too much of an issue; as str_ commented - fairly quiet.

Cheers y'all, hope all are okay!
