Phase 6: Never knew mounting would be so hard....

I got my new mount late last week, so this weekend I decided to put it on the wall.

I executed the plan which I detailed here

I got 2 pieces of thick MDF from Homebase and had them cut it to size (3" bigger on each side of the mount) I also picked up some M8 threaded rods and nuts (washers too!)

The first thing I did was measure out the wood and mark the holes - these were drilled (Pilot hole first then M8 hole)

Here you can see it with the rods in the holes:

Then I drilled holes straight through both walls - using an M8 masonary bit, I threaded the rods which I had cut in 2 through....

Of course, you have to check it is level:

Then I put the rest of the bolts through, and put washers on the end, and nuts.

On the back I put metal plates on each corner (which will be screwed down) and washers and nuts too

These need cutting down and the front needs to be painted, the hole will have cables routed through.

I have a 4CM by 18CM piece of MDF which will be glued to the wall (on the hole side) to cover the cables dropping down.
