.... So, they can clad things in white plastic - and turn them in to a hit, they can make an MP3 player with no screen sell in mass quantity for more than their competitors parts. They can have Dell take them on in the MP3 arena and then pull out.....
.... They also have some of the best engineered hardware on the planet; take the G5 chassis - a work of art. However, there biggest downflaw is the fact it runs OSX. This is also their biggest PLUS point. I love OSX, and everyone I know loves it too, however its not Windows and I can't play my games under it.... So releasing Bootcamp has opened up the entire market, people can buy this and have Windows XP and OSX on the same solution, OSX for office, and Windows for games (or other applications)
So instead of having to accept a hacked up Clevo chassis painted some fancy colour you really can have a "Vootique" style PC which is engineered to work. Yes of course some of it is problematic in the first generation stuff.
So Core Duo over G4/5, High quality parts, prices which are coming down - OSX and XP - what else could someone want? The next thing they will bring out is high end cards in the units such as 78xx series and x1800 products.
I suspect when we see Virtualization on the CPU and Chipset we will see XP and OSX running at the same time and you will switch between them with a click of a button.
I can't see at the moment a reason to not buy an Apple notebook if you want a high end luxury system... unless you hate Apple... right?
