    Looking for a 27" Monitor

I am looking to buy the best 27" monitor with speakers for around 200£ and would really appreciate some advice. I definitely need an HDMI port and 1920 x 1080p and I have a Wii as well so SCART/composite would be nice but isn't a necessity as I am sure there are converters for everything thee days. I can also be persuaded into buying a monitor without speakers if some good speakers are suggested as well and the monitor in question is better than all the others. I have so far come up with:

    LG M2762DP-PZ 27in LCD TV/Monitor

    HANNS.G HZ281HPB LCD TFT 27.5" HDMI Monitor

Benq GL2750HM LED LCD 27" HDMI Monitor

    HANNS.G HL272HPB LED TFT 27" HDMI Monitor

Re: Looking for a 27" Monitor

Had the Benq a month or so ago. Not a very good monitor, when reading script/ text the writing seemed blury, tried to remedy it by using windows clear text, but no joy, plus the red dead pixel bang in the centre was annoying. I now have the IIyama E2773hDS 1ms and it s smoother in gaming than the benq and really sharp.

Yea, thats the one, Yamakasi, I didn't go with it because of the warranty. Also If I remember correctly, people overclock them to 120hz.

Re: Looking for a 27" Monitor

I would look at the BenQ GW2750HM (£180) instead of the older GL2750HM. TFT Central have recently reviewed it:
    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_gw2750hm.htm

I own the smaller 24" GW model which is better than my old viewsonic but not as nice as the Dell U2311H a friend has colour wise, then again the dell was £200 compared to the £133 for the 24" BenQ.

If you find the benq for sale in Amazon clearance, don't buy it, its my return, has a bright dead red pixel plus the text while reading web pages like this isn't very sharp.

Why not this Asus VE276Q? Looks pretty decent.

Re: Looking for a 27" Monitor

Hi Zeven, which one did you get in the end?

I'm in a similar situation myself: I'm looking for a 27" for work (Office suite type activity) and gaming (RTS > FPS) as well as the usual bit of photo editing, surfing, etc.

Leading contender within my ~£250 budget is the Iiyama E2773HDS:http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/monit...olite-e2773hds. This has good image for the price bracket and the resolution, although probably low for 27", is I imagine for my needs. Only niggling thing is it doesn't rotate to portrait which would be useful from time to time (e.g. PDF and Word docs) but hardly a show-stopper.

I'd be pleased to hear any other suggestions as well as Zeven's experience with whatever he ended up with.

This monitor has roughly the same specs (+1ms response time) compared to that Iiyama. Would this be a good choice?

I have a couple of HannsG HZ281HPB and for the price its great with good image quality and no dead pixels its stand is a bit flimsy mind you.

    Cheers

Iiyama has an updated model out (still ~£250) that does rotate on the stand (which is also height adjustable), the Prolite-B2780HSU-B1.

The HannsG seems to have decent reviews on the net. TBH I think I'd prefer to stick to a 'brand name' though unless there was a major price/performance improvement (though I suppose ~£50 less is pretty meaningful!).
