    Some monitor questions

    Hey All,

I'm on the lookout for a new monitor that will be used for nothing but gaming, so I was thinking at least 1920x1080, 120hz, 2ms. I'm used to a 22" and sit quite close to it so don't want anything huge either, have my eye on the BenQ XL2420T or the Samsung S23A750D. Anyone know of anything more suitable?

Also I would like to use this with a second monitor attached to a single GTX570 for browsing the net. The problem is the second monitor will have a different resolution of 1680x1050 and be 60hz, will this cause any problems?

    Thanks!
    Kaged

    Re: Some monitor questions

I don't know the model numbers, people on other forums love the Samsung 120 Hz monitors though! I don't think the second monitor would cause any problems, although I don't know much about 120 Hz. I'd have thought the 120 Hz monitor would maybe have to be clocked back down to 60 Hz when the other monitor is in, as I think the 570 only supports two monitors and maybe a 120 Hz monitor counts as having two 60 Hz monitors, I'm just guessing though.

    Re: Some monitor questions

Thanks Newblet, I ended up going for the BenQ and I'm really really happy with it, 120Hz and 1920x1080 on my BenQ and 1680x1050 60Hz on my LG with no problems at all.

    Re: Some monitor questions

bought a new monitor from scan today, slight problem with it, can anyone tell me if this is normal at the top and bottom of the screen in the images? The monitor has a line at top and bottom which is showing the icons on the task bar twice. thanks
