1 Large High Res Monitor? I cant fit Multi monitors on my PC desk!

    Lo people

I've been running 2 monitors for months now, and it's great but it's messy. I have a main 22" 1680x1050 horizontal (Iiyama mid top ranger) and another 22" Portrait (Benq low ranger but good sideways)

I was looking to go triple monitor. I've got the card and the cables and can do it.. but it doesn't fit the desk!

And while playing my favourite games, sometimes I get a black screen for a few seconds before reverting to the mainscreen again.. only ever does it once.. so used to it now I have to hide away in CoDW@W after logging in while I wait for it to happen!

So.... I wondered if anyone had used one of these?

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-ha...peakers-pc-mac

    It's a 2560x1440 monitor.

I could sell one of the 22"' and keep the second for a spare or for when I decide I need a dual setup again

Have you got a graphics card that will drive that resolution at a decent FPS or will you have to run at non-native res when gaming?

Essentially the same monitor as the Hazro.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Monitor stands - the way forward. I've only got a fairly thin table but my monitor takes up none of the usable space.

The specs don't seem too similar ... just curious why you say they are the same? (I'm trying to figure out which 27-30" monitor to get so really interested in this area.)

I presume he was meaning they both use the same LG panel, and so there are some slight differences, but you'll be getting a very similar product for £60 less

It seems OcUK has noticed that a lot of people have been importing the 27" South Korean monitors, which also use similar panels as the Hazro monitors.

    ah.. question of the day

6950 2gig card... and I have NO IDEA if it'll run my games at native. Excellent question... excellent. On y older stuff yes I think it will.. but if I get a new title, one that stresses the card.. .. I dunno.

now I HAVE looked into this, but it's width is the issue... width. The stand won't help... even with the bevels touching each other... tis too wide. Not a depth issue.

i COULD go vertical... 3 on top of each other, but that'll be useless for gaming if I choose to use 3.

I#ve looked into 3 horizontaly all Portrait, but you can't trust the panels to show the proper colours when twisted by 90'.. at least I've not seen one that looks right yet. The Benq is the best I've had for that.. and its not ideal for photo's

An 6950 2GB can happy run games at 5760x1080, I play BFBC2 and BF3 all the time at that resolution.

But if you going to spend so much on a monitor, why don't you buy a cheap table/montior stand from eBay?

I managed to get one of them giant L shape office desks last year for £20, used that for a while.

I'm bemused... I don't have the room so why would buying a new table and a stand help? I don't have the room for a new desk so sadly it won't help. Nor will a stand....

My office desk space is restricted by room space.. not desk

but happy to hear the card can run BF3 on 3 x 1920x1080 monitors

Re: 1 Large High Res Monitor? I cant fit Multi monitors on my PC desk!

The answer, Zak, is 3 large high res monitors. I mean, yeah, you might have to buy a new house to fit them in, but worry about the logistics later. That's my plan at least

Seriously though, I think it's a great idea. I tend to use my 2 monitors with Aero Snap, so I have one window on one screen, and two on the other. Problem is, 1920*1080 isn't really enough width-wise to fit two windows comfortably imo. 2560 though, that fits two windows of 1280 width, which is still a very important standard for website and software designers. You would get the benefit of 3 screens by having 2 programs open on the main screen, and the 3rd on the other screen, and when you want to game you get an incredible resolution. What's not to love?

The DGM seems to be pretty good. Same panel with more connections and a lot cheaper. Its the one i'm planning to get.

Just remember that picture quality isn't just about the panel, the backlight, supporting electronics and build/QC standards (yeah, I'm looking at you Dell!) can make a notable difference as well. For a long time and maybe even still now, NEC and Dell used the same panels in their 30" range yet the NEC's were generally considered better in many areas (except price).
