Wanting a new monitor to go with my new build

Its been years since I bought a monitor, currently got a 15" hans G monitor. I think its time to upgrade since i built a new pc last weekend

Who/what are the best options on the market atm. Im looking around the 27" mark, had a look at a few and would like to hear from someone who has a good monitor they would recomend

    thanks for your time

What's the budget and main usage ?
Personally I'm loving my Dell U2412M.

Re: Wanting a new monitor to go with my new build

Something cheap (TN panel) but still good would be an Asus, such as the VE278Q. It's going at about £220. But considering it is for a monitor, 27 might be too big for 1920x1080 resolution and it is possible to see the actual pixels while sitting right in front of it.

For better quality, there's the Dell U2711, which is more than double at £500. It has a massive 2560 x 1440 resolution. Unfortunately, according to TFT central it has noticable input lag (30ms avg) which can be bad for gaming.
Quick search I found that this is has a LG IPS panel. Not sure which one to go for with LG, but I was actually looking into the Yamasaki catleap Q270, which is a korean brand which uses the LG panel too. It has to be imported, only sellers are in ebay. Apparently very good pricing for an IPS screen. A google search for Yamasaki Catleap club will show a overclockers.net thread with very helpful information (sorry, can't post links).

If it were me, I would prefer to go with Phage's option, probably biased since I also got the U2412m and think it's great.

What is the budget as well? Starting to think the ones I suggested aren't appropriate for the need.

Re: Wanting a new monitor to go with my new build

Before deciding on going for a single 27" setup I was looking at running dual LG IPS225Vs

£120 for a 22" IPS monitor with VGA, DVI and HDMI is pretty good tbh, but not the 24/27 setup you had highlighted.

Achieva Shimian QH270 is another one of the korean import options, but if you want to source within the UK maybe the Hazro HZ27WC is an option ?

Prices seem to be about £340, which is just under £100 cheaper than the Dell 27" ( prices could have changed since I was looking )

He already said 2 monitors is not for him.

I got my U2711 from Amazon Spain, works out at about £460 atm.
