[QUOTE I can't get play back in full screen.[/QUOTE]

I have one of these monitors and I got Media Player Classic to play back in full screen...

I agree with you that hardware manufacturers should make it easier to fill the screen rather than have a 21:9 picture with a black bar surrounding it - I mean it's obvious that is what people will want to do so why not make it automatic ???

Because its the responsibility of the software that is doing the rendering to do that? Surely the monitor just displays the signal given and its up to the computer to ensure that the signal is correct one being sent out. Cant see that being the hardware manufactures fault.

Still want one of these 21:9 variant monitors for myself though, they look so great for gaming.

Whether it's hardware or software, the point I was making was that if the hardware manufacturers want their kit to be seen at it's best, they should make one of the most obvious uses (IE: watching videos) simple and straightforward. Either make it zoom pointless black bars out automatically or get the software companies to make it easy - There's lots of different types of playback software so if Media Player Classic can do it then why can't they all?
