Question BenQ RL2455HM or Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM???

The other half is getting me a new monitor for xmas and im stuck between the BenQ RL2455HM or Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM.

Will be mainly using it for watching video on and a few games as this will be used as a 2nd monitor as using my main BenQ 24" FP241W for gaming/every thing else.

Like the Dell as it has an IPS panel and wide viewing angles.... but it is a bit more money.

BenQ has 2 HDMI connection which could be handy and has had some good reviews but would this be better for a gaming monitor? As it has 2ms response times but using a TN panel.

    Any good advise welcome

    Cheers

Well I have the Dell U2312HM and it is amazing. Fantastic build quality, Dell's pixel perfect guarantee and great colours. It has good black levels which is really important for me watching movies and playing some darker games. I personally don't notice a difference moving from a monitor rated a 2ms response times to the Dell so I can't imagine you would either. One thing I would have a read up on is that Dell recently refreshed their U2312HM to the new A00 model. Apparently this suffers from a bit of a yellow tint. Unsure if this has been resolved, but have a read online and it might make the decision for you.

I'd go for the Dell, especially if you're going to use it as a second monitor, the IPS panel will look a lot better if you're not looking at it head on compared to the TN. The 6ms response time difference won't even be noticeable, even alongside your other monitor.

+1 to the Dell as well, have been hearing good reviews about it too. Dell's IPS are factory color calibrated too.

I don't think you can really feel the diff between 2ms and 5ms.

I would imagine he already has the monitor by now seeing as it's been more than a month since Christmas (ALREADY!) hehe

I wonder which one he got in the end..
