How do you resolve a dead/static pixel on the screen. When I started it up for the first time I noticed it as blue dot. It is only visible when black or other dark colours.

there are programs you can get that flash the screen and try and "excite" the pixel back into life......if they do not work you probably have a dead, rather than stuck, pixel.

If its definitely blue then as shaithis said theres programs that will flash the screen to try and "excite" or "reset" it. If that fails there are some methods in regards to carefully applying pressure to the pixel and so on but try software first, the physical methods can make it worse if you arent careful enough though its relatively safe.
If however its grey/black rather than blue its likely dead, that cant be fixed and requires either replacement parts or a whole new screen. You could probably get it fixed up though.
I have found those programs rarely work but others say they do.
Though if its a brand new monitor I would return it under the DSR and ask for another one.

I took delivery of a ROG Swift yesterday and it has a single dead pixel (grey/black). I've been running UDPixel for the past 18 hours but am not hopeful. The guy I spoke to on the phone said he had heard rumours of dead pixels coming back to life but never seen it personally. I've got a RMA number and it's being picked up on Monday so hopefully will have a pixel-perfect one on Tuesday/Wednesday. If it's stuck on blue you might have a decent chance of getting it to work but if it's dead dead, you should be able to return it under DSR for up to 14 days. You don't have to give a reason although I think they are now allowed to deduct a small (reasonable, proportional) amount for returning things in a non-reasonable state. See https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...tions-2013.pdf so one example would be if you'd destroyed the box opening it, they could deduct some money for reboxing. So don't throw it down any stairs. Some sites go above and beyond their DSR obligations and will replace for longer for even one dead/stuck pixel, even if under ISO rules it wouldn't be classed as defective.
