    Too many damn choices!!

I built my new system a few weeks back, although I was intending to upgrade it soon, my 8 y.o. 22" Samsung monitor has started to die...
I've never seen any screen tearing on my old monitor despite it's age, even on my new system, (because it has a 2ms refresh?) so I'm not really that bothered about G-sync as I think it's expensive for what it does...
There's a lot of monitors to choose from but have narrowed it down a fair bit but would like to know your thoughts on the following....
    Benq XL2430T, 144hz and 1ms around the £287 mark
LG 24GM77 with the same 144hz and 1ms but for only about £200 or the
    AOC G2460PG 144hz, 1ms and (free? lol) G-sync for around £300.

I'd go with the LG cheapest wins!

or the AOC G2460PQU which is also £200

The list is a bit dated now but worth a read. I looked into getting a good monitor a while back, having a strobed back light makes a huge difference apparently and it was decided I would go for one. Realized I can't really afford one and the idea went away .

The strobing is pretty much what you used to get on a crt.

I've spent all evening bashing my head against the wall trying to understand the functional differences between IPS vs PLS & the compromises I need to make on a PC build for the family (from gaming through to professional work).

Settled on the Dell P2414H - 1080p w. IPS screen and Scan have it for nearly £100 off Retail!

    Re: Too many damn choices!!

    Decided on the LG :-)

UPDATE: Arrived yesterday and it was a doddle to set-up. Brightness was a bit high out of the box but other than that it's a great bit of kit. May save up for another! :-)
