Talking What is the cheapest 1080p monitor?

Hi I'm on a limited budget and have a crappy 1400x900 lg overclocked at 75hz so anything better than this will do, the only reason for upgrade is so I can record in 1080p for youtube I don't care about quality really as long as its a slight improvement on what I have!

Ebuyer are doing £73 delivered as I type. Have a browse: http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer...rice+ascending

But you must have a budget though, for a bit more you may get a much better monitor.

Re: What is the cheapest 1080p monitor?

Thanks man that looks promising I might get that if the deal I found on eBay falls through... And to answer your question I have a large budget but I simply don't feel the need to blow it on a monitor just yet because there are so many new monitors and developments coming along I would rather wait it out with any average 1080p monitor!

It's probably worth getting a decent 1080 monitor, simply so you don't spend more buying cheaper ones that fail.

    I agree
The more one seeks, the more one finds and so you realise there is a lot more to be found.

Okay so if I say <£100 what would that get me and how much more money would I see a significant improvement?

Let's say money is no object what monitor has the thinnest bezel? You can include monitors that are modifiable to be the thinnest bezeled too, I'm quite handy
Depending on the cost and other specs it might end up being my new monitor...
    Thanks in advance!

Re: What is the cheapest 1080p monitor?

Well first thing is, what sort of use will it get?

TN panels are faster for gaming use, IPS panels give better colour reproduction.

The screen is something that you are looking at all the time, having one that gives a bad image or is just plain ugly seems a false economy.

Re: What is the cheapest 1080p monitor?

I will be using it mainly for gaming but to be honest I know IPS is much nicer to do other things on so probably IPS...

    Dell claim they do: http://www.ebuyer.com/616485-dell-ul...monitor-u2414h

Who knows, Dell do sell really nice monitors though.

This samsung also looks quite nice

I'd recommend with your budget, this panel for TN.
As for IPS they're more expensive so this smaller one I came across, also looks really neat.

Dell's newer 2515H is also very spare in the bezel region.

    Re: THINNEST bezeled 1080p monitor??

That is indeed a handsome bezel. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to pretend that the 2515H doesn't actually exist for such sensible money. No. I don't need one, and I certainly do not need TWO.

I feel that the era of the girthy bezel is drawing to a close.

    Might do it...

Hi I posted yesterday about monitors TWICE! I think I have come to the conclusion of buying the dell u2414h at a reduced price of £140 as it is refurbished. Shall I just do it or is there any final objections? I do realise the response time is a little slow but I would rather have a nice picture and I've heard you can overclock them to 80hz with displayport which I have on my gtx 970...

If it's direct from Dell, yes - great returns policy. Always make sure to get monitors from a friendly shop with generous returns.
