    Connecting imported monitor

    So I may be a bit of a noob here and tried looking around a bit, but I've ordered a 2795qhd monitor imported from korea to replace my 2nd monitor that has practically stopped functioning. Would using the power cable for that work for this monitor fine. I was hoping they'd send an adapter as mentioned, but they may have been out of stock.

    Power brick specs:
    Input: 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz, 1.5A
    Output 12v 4.0A

    Power cable sent (obviously not uk pin):
    AC 250v 16A

    Old power cable (though will need to confirm it is the old monitor not the cable being faulty):
    260V 13A

    Also am hoping to be able to overclock this monitor.

    13A @ 260V is 3380W

    If the cable plugs in, it should be OK but I would want a 3A fuse in it at most.

    Re: Connecting imported monitor

    When I imported one of my Dells from Brazil, it was compatible with both US and EU power.

    The fact that your power brick states "100-240V" makes me think that is also a switching unit. Does the power brick have a kettle-lead or clover-leaf input? If so, you can almost certainly just plug in a UK lead.

    Re: Connecting imported monitor

    Thanks guys, just wanted to be sure (kettle lead btw). Though now having a different odd problem. It's connected via DVI since that's all it has, while my other monitor is connected via HDMI. If I have the HDMI one connected, my new one doesn't display and isn't detected in display options. If I take the HDMI connector out, it does display... Plugging the hdmi one in again shows only that monitor and doesn't detect the new one.

    using a 970 G1 btw on windows 10

    Wow, now I do feel dumb. Thanks. It was the message saying it wouldn't detect another monitor that threw me off. My thought process was to detect the monitors and then adjust the settings to extend the desktop. I appreciate the help. I guess the swapping of displays would be because my other monitor was set to my main display.
