    Korean UHD monitors?

I am currently running a crossover 27" 1440p IPS screen and love it.

Now as it is I am running a small video editing business and I am looking for a second screen.

As it is the 4k/UHD prices are tumbling and as you may guess I am not against importing lessor known brands.

My thinking is getting a UHD screen as the extra real estate will make a huge difference with complex/multi camera edits and then using the current 27" as a full screen preview. Being an IPS the colours are great and I do calibrate it.

I am not as worried about colour accuracy on the 4K screen but it would be nice.

I am happy with 60hz and not looking to go over this and would prefer for the monitor to be the same size or bigger than the 27"

I have found the Crossover 289K (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331704507583) but can't find any solid info on it.

Any know any decent models which are worth a look?

    Thanks

If you want extra space rather than extra detail then you may need to up the size. 3840x2160 is a substantial increase in resolution so needs to be accompanied by a substantial increase in size. The equivalent to 2560x1440@27" is 3840x2160@40.5"

3840x2160@28" at 1x scaling is pretty tiny so you would likely need to increase the scaling factor. How much would depend on your viewing distance and eyesight but you may find you don't get much more screen space than 2560x1440.

What colour gamut are you after?

You could probably get a first-gen 4K monitor like the U28D590D second-hand for around the same price, which is what I'd be inclined to do.

Well Dreamseller (the vendor you've referenced) are selling the 40" Tiena model at pretty much the same price so I'd go for that tbh:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIENA-QXM4...AAAOSwCQNWeHd5

You wouldn't get more than 60hz if you wanted to anyway. Will have to wait for DP1.3 for that AFAIK.

    Re: Korean UHD monitors?

Just to add to it. the acer 24" UHD monitor for £200, of course the DPI will be very high but it is an IPS, the others I am seeing are VA.

Colour gamut of sRGB is fine a little short isn't an issue.

I am not too against shrinking pixels and 40" is just too big.

I am not against scaling to a point, ie video previews and photos will still get the benefit of the higher resolution even if I miss some real estate due to text scaling.

I will say viewing distance is rather close.

Reading up it does seem windows 10 does play nicely with UHD (mostly), and yes I am one of those who hit the upgrade button.

Another point is the second business PC currently has a 1080p 24" acer attached, so it may be worth adding the 1440p to that, then using that as the preview monitor alongside the acer 24" UHD screen, would fit the desk quite nicely and would be too far from left to right for me working.

may mess with photoshop and simulate UHD and see how it looks. (of course I will only get sizes but not clarity)

Thanks for the input so far

    Re: Korean UHD monitors?

Well that was easy enough to check. I quick mess with photoshop with a UHD mockup desktop at 100& and 125% scaling and both looked fine at 27" and 23.5".

Of course I can't see with the clarity of UHD but icon and text sizes looked fine and readable even with dodgy scaling of my test, my thinking is potentially 125% scaling but if application don't use it I should be fine.

Can't find any full technical reviews of the acer http://www.ebuyer.com/700236-acer-k2...r-um-uv6ee-001 but user reviews are positive except the stand isn't the best.

    £200, rather tempting.
