monitor colour calibration - again

Hey all, another thread on monitor calibration. It's been a few years since this was last discussed (that I can see anyway)

Is the X-rite i-display pro still the one to go for? Seems to get a bit of flack on Amazon for not being very user friendly. Anyone on here got one?

I borrowed the X-rite one and agree it wasn't very user friendly. I tried to follow the instructions and the closest thing I could find to an auto setup routine. It did stuff, I got a very slightly better monitor accuracy out of it (was subtle, but have better grey tone and more greenshades), but I couldn't figure out in my limited time how to quantify the difference.

I think X-Rite is still the standard, last place I worked at that used colour calibration had Spyder units (v4 IIRC). No complaints whatsoever with the generated profiles but can't comment on user friendliness vs the X-Rites.
