Yes the TV's have a firmware update feature built in. My TV is connected to the network and has updated itself once since I have had it.

Thanks for the help I have ordered the TV already 55" and looking forward to it
I was reading a bit more today and the TV i have ordered thats the KU6400 4K it has HDMI 2.0a. Now that has a feature thats HDR. Though i think its the basic version and not the better one.
I was reading this article and if its true and in a future update it will have HDMI 2.1 would that mean i would get a better version of HDR thanks to a TV update? Firmware?
It says that Samsung will have an update.

As far as I know, all HDMI (standard-sized) cables and ports are born equal and if the engineers are so inclined can provide firmware updates to turn it into HDMI 2.0a.
Is this rec. 2020, HDR etc etc more of a marketing thing?
If its not then you could never get a TV thats future proof hahaha
I bought the TV and I am very happy with it thanks for everyones help.
A friend of mine really likes my TV and wants to buy a new one. Though he has more money he said maybe he would get the KS7000. Is there a difference or more marketing?
any help
