Mixing Freesync with non Freesync monitors on one card

I am looking into getting another monitor and they all seem to support freesync these days.
I am currently driving 3 screens off my RX 580 (Some LG 1680x1050 screen, a Dell U2311H and some 17" 1280x1024 screen) all of which are 60 Hz screens

If I were to get another screen (Such as a Dell S2721D) that supports freesync, will it work if I just use that screen for a game with freesync? I.e. 48-75Hz on the 27" screen and the rest are just displaying whatever from the windows desktop at 60Hz
I plan to use Radeon Chill to set the card to go between 60 and 70 FPS to keep it nice and quiet and chilly. I don't play particularly demanding games.

I've done a quick internet check and can't find a solid answer. It looks like the RX-580 supports Freesync and can drive as many monitors as it has ports.

    Thanks!

Re: Mixing Freesync with non Freesync monitors on one card

It seems to do the best it can with the monitors given.

I ran a 144Hz Freesync main panel and a lower resolution fixed 60Hz second panel for years with no trouble. Now I have 144Hz Freesync main and my second panel is upgraded to the same 1440p resolution (mixed resolutions were a bit of a pain) which is freesync but that only does 70Hz max. I haven't had any issues with the mismatch there either.

Note I don't run games that use both monitors at the same time, I have no idea how well that would work. I usually have a game in front of me and a browser on the second screen.

Perfect thanks! I don't plan on using multi screen gaming so my use case is pretty much the same as yours.

I have a 144hz Free-Sync for gaming, paired with a 75hz non free-sync monitor and have not had any issues at all.

Re: Mixing Freesync with non Freesync monitors on one card

Just to confirm to any Future reader of this thread, after switching Freesync on for this shiny new screen, it "just worked" - however I am currently only driving 3 screens from the card as I haven't cleared my desk for the 4th yet.
