Yeah, most people say that the Wii gets boring, and that wiiremote looses its entertainment value.
Are there even any good splitscreen Xbox360 games? I'm counting on halo to wreak havok of course
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii
Neither

Most people will never understand the concept of the wii and will buy games for it which would be more appropriate for other platforms. They then call it boring then when those games don't fit the model of what the wii is really about. Thats my opinion anyway. When developers truely unlock the potential of the wiimote it will be a truly great system.
I game on my PC, I have fun and play with other people on the Wii. I had a go on someones XBOX once but it was just like a PC but with poor controls.
If I didn't have a PC capable of playing games then I'd probably go for a 360, but I do and I split the cost of the Wii with my housemates and we all still enjoy it (despite only having Wii Sports and Play).
in theory thats great, but it isn't a completely accurate remote, the games aren't great, the games which really do use the remote to its fullest , and there are quite a few already, aren't to many peoples taste and most are very short term games.
there are some people who can play wii sports every night, and those of us who play for a week then get over it. the number of threads of people with Wii's who 3 months ago said it was the best thing ever, are now all saying, meh, novelty, i'm bored, don't get one. its a fast growing trend. there are some nice looking games coming, but not many. for every meteroid prime or super mario galaxy theres 10 wario ware smooth moves style games coming.
the remote doesn't lend itself to fps's, and limited resolution will always mean a limited field of view, limited depth of view and limited detail at distance where as games coming out on the 360/ps3/pc just feel far better and are getting more realistic. theres maybe 4-5 games that are those AAA titles that a lot of people would buy on the Wii in the next year( galaxy, paper mario, meteroid and i'd guess a couple others but nothing else i want), and theres 7-8 360/pc games coming out in the next 2-3 months that i think will all be pretty fantastic.
get a 360, you could always get a core, a hard drive if you really want or just a mem card for cheap , ebay i guess, then go with lovefilm or something to rent games, get a couple games at a time for £12 a month or something.
PS, my parents got the Wii, i got zelda for it and really can't get into it, so far its horrible and fiddly and i really don't like it. the best thing about the whole console is play 2 player Wii tennis, but choosing to control one guy on each side of the net, so you're both playing for both teams. most of the fun comes from the confusion, not the playing for me, the swinging doesn't make me enjoy it more than a control pad, just the madness that comes from playing for both sides.

So true, most people really still in the mindset of graphics first, gameplay second. The Wii Remote is an excellent tool but don't expect to do everything.
Also for gawds sake when is anyone ever going to shut up about:
A) Price drops
B) Launch titles.
Neither of these ever come with a console less than 6 months.
Ok rant over.
As for the vote depends what you want it for, the Sonic game on Wii is overlooked IMO. The Xbox360 is really for single player but I love it as the girlf doesn't do games other than Wii Sports, socially.
Go for the 360 I'd say!.. Some awesome games out currently and the rest of the years line-up always some great games to look forward to.
Without mean to come across as a funny bugger I think you have proven my point there. The wii is not intended for FPS gaming; not in the traditional sense anyway nor is it meant for photo realistic gaming. The ideology of the latter has been hammered into peoples minds because it has been the biggest selling point of each new generation of console since day one. If Nintendo wanted a system that was graphically capable they would have made one. The focus Nintendo have with the wii is how you control the game, and how immersed in with that game you become, hense to some degree the look of the game goes out the window. Its a brave move on their part considering that most seem to think that the look of the game is the most important thing and that is what they will go for. The wii a vision of the future and I bet that MS and sony will copy it in some shape or form in a gen or two from now.
I have said it before and I will say it again, if you can't embrace the wii for the innovation that it is and just be patient with it then you will hate it. The wii can't be directly compared to the 360 or PS3; Nintendo has divided the market with the wii and has set it on a different path to its rivals.
As for the games being crap, I basically have to echo what George said...The wii is a new system and it will take time for developers to get to grips with a knew concept of programming. Up until the wii no console used anything like the wiimote as the main controlling device of the system.
They can't just click their fingers and develop something that will make full and good use for the hardware available. Remember that the 360 has been out for far longer than the wii and the PS3 for that matter (the situation is arguably worse for the PS3) and so it will have a bucket load of games available for it, and coming out for it. The situation will be the same for the wii and the PS3 over time.

Regarding the Xbox360 Vs PC debate....
Yeah, I used to run FPS on PC like a maniac (cs dod etc), but considering a top of the line graphics card costs me the same price as two console, I don't think PC gaming is worth it anymore. Heck, I'm still on a 6800GT AGP.
By the way guys, I'm beginning the favour the Xbox 360 a lot more now. I'm just worried about the reliability that plagues quite a few people that's mentioned in various xbox forums. Is it worth waiting for 65nm (due september-ish) for reduced heat and increased efficiency, or is the deal I mentioned (360 premium, 3.5 games [arcade live *yawn*], extra controller for £290 delivered) worth it?
Also, does the Xbox 360 have what it takes to carry it throughout it's shelflife? Cos I was one of the 10million people who owned a dreamcast, and look what happened there! Do you think the PS3 will somehow beat the wii/360 in this generation's console war?
No, no and no. The PC is more likely to win the console wars than the PS3. Unless they find a way to make them and sell them for half their current price then not a chance - they're still stacked up in shop windows.
I don't think either the 360 or Wii will 'win' - they're both doing well and are so different there's room for them both on the market.
I have both a good gaming rig and a 360, and I have to say I prefer my 360 right now. But I go in phases, I'll play something, get bored. Before about a month or two ago I barely touched my 360, now I can't put it down and have been discovering the older titles like king kong, full auto and R6 (not very old, but it's now selling at like £25). The 360 games are expensive if they're a new release, but once they get a month or two old they usually drop down quite a lot.
The Wii is kind of a "gimmick" console, not that it's a bad thing, but there just aren't enough great games for it. The problem with the Wii is the developers, instead of thinking, "great, we've got this awesome controller, lets see what kind of crazy **** we can do", they're thinking "we have this great controller, lets put generic title A on there! People don't like different, thats why Dr Kawashima's Brain Training is at the bottom of the DS charts! Oh wait.."
Although I really do want a Wii, just for Wii sports and Wario Ware, but I'd say get the 360 personally.
EDIT: As far as reliability goes, I've had no problems, and MS have excellent customer service if anything should happen.
I just noticed that play have the elite version listed with no price and no release date. I wonder if this will be out sometime in the summer or late summer. They wouldn't list it if it wasn't coming out soonish would they?

Wow, I was so close to buying this... And then I talked to my housemates.
I'd never had considered the PS3 at all... but I think I'm gonna wait until the end of summer, or even maybe christmas to see if the PS3 takes off. The only disadvantage is the price, but the price of consoles halfs every two years. Also the PS3 has a better line up of games.
What do you guys think?
