Lost Planet Extreme Condition - Installation

Have just built a new computer and received Lost Planet: Extreme Condition free with the 8800gts .

However whenever I try and install it comes up with an error - something like can't find steam.dll

Essentially its telling me I need an internet connection. I'm at Uni with restricted access so can't install it. Is there any way you know to be able to install and play the game without the need for the internet (or steam)?

It may be that you just need Steam installed... any chance there's a Steam setup on the Lost Planet disc?
