COD4 awaiting keycode authorization problem

Hi,

I'm not too sure if this is the right section ....if not sorry

I have Call of Duty 4 installed with the 1.4 patch.

For some reason I keep getting the "Awaiting key code authorization" message and the timer counts to 10 and times out giving an error.

I have used the console to increase the timer to 30 and 60 seconds but still nothing.

I have reinstalled the game and it connects first time but when I restart the computer it times out giving the same message.

I reinstalled it again in a different folder and again it works but after I restart the PC I get the same message and it times out.

Hoping you can provide a solution.

weird I had this until 1.4 patch where it cleared it.

It weird that it works after a reinstall...until I restart

I have tried switching from LAN to a usb modem and still nothing.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Punkbuster and in the firewall set everything to allow..even turned it off with no joy.

Maybe something is corrupting after I restart my PC.

I used to have this problem but most of the time it fixed itself, i just constantly tried reconnecting.

One thing I have noticed which can affect PB and CoD4 is if you have Windows Updates either waiting for download or already downloaded and installed.

I also make sure I have my firewall running when first connecting to a server to ensure all the relevant components of the game have internet access if they require it.
