I'm using an Everglide DKT Megamat, biggest they did before the Titan and a Logitech G7, prior to that I used an MX-700 until I clicked it to death. My MX-700 had the same inertia problem that you describe, it's mostly down to the increased weight of the pair of AA batteries inside it. I've used G5, G7 and G9 and they're all much lighter than the MX-700. The MX-700 and MX-518 were the first mice they made with the shape they have, the G7 and G5 are essentially upgraded versions with sensitivity modifiers and one less thumb button.

Can't say I'd recommend the G7 though, if you can even find it these days. Switching the batteries mid gaming session can get quite annoying, and for some reason its plastic attracts dead skin worse than anything else I've ever seen...oddly the G5 doesn't seem to have that problem.

I'm currently using an MX-500, I'm considering the G5 or G9 but I'm not sure about the new G9 shape. What does the G9 shape feel like compared to the G5, any better or worse?

Currently using the noidpad with the deathadder which is an upgrade from what i used previously, the mx510 and S&S pad. I personally prefer the noidpad and deathadder combo

I want to get a deathadder and I liked the idea of noidpad, but then I read they only accept paypal for payment
I can't bothered signing up again, I cancelled my account and the direct debit because I never used the thing and after all that crap with reverse charging etc.

you don't have to sign up to paypal to pay (for the noidpad), you can pay via card (it sends you a link to enter your details using paypal). hope that makes any sense

I've used a few mice and pads in past.

    MX500 - Razer Diamondback - G5 - Back to the Diamondback - Razer Deathadder.

Steelpad (can't remember which - one of their first) - Razer eXactMat - Steelpad 5L.

The Deathadder and the Steelpad 5L is by far the best combo I've used. The movement is extremely smooth thanks to the Deathadder's IR sensor (opposed to Laser) and the 5L's Cloth/Plastic surface. I think I might have a ltd-edition mat though 'cos mines got some green/blue graphic going on. Anyhow, highly recommended combo!
