For games released this year, Fallout 3 on the PC by far. The PC version of Mass Effect was pretty danged good too.

GTA4 for the PC will most likely give FO3 a run for its money when I get it.

I found most games released this year a bit pants, no idea why....

GTA 4 was reasonable but didn't have the same feel of San Andreas, which I loved.

MGS-4 was good but was always going to be.

Farcry 2 was AWFUL (played this one on the pc)

Fallout 3 does nothing for me.

I think i'm turning into an old git.
If I have to pick one, its GTA 4.

Q1 09 looks like all the games i've been waiting for are coming out.
This year though have enjoyed Brothers in Arms Hells Highway the most.

Gears of War 2 and GTA IV without a doubt! High production values, focus on delivering a real gaming experience without sacrificing gameplay and both finish leaving you wanting more. I think Mass Effect deserves a special mention too although after five plays I'm a little tired of it

Burnout Paradise is what I have played most this year and did come out in 2008 so is my game of the year by far.

Agreed, I've spent more time in Paradise city than anywhere else this year, can't wait for the Island to be launched.

Enjoyed Fallout 3 (pc), being able to nuke a whole town just did it for me wah ha ha ha ha (evil laugh)

Mount & Blade for me. The mounted combat is possibly the most thrilling thing I've done in a game this year. TF2 a close second, although technically that came out in 2007 it is the game I've played most in 2008.
