The long awaited BF2 patch is out and comes with the 2 booster packs for free, download is a good 2gb and the servers are packed.

a bit annoyed the packs are free i had to pay for euro forces ages ago and there were never any servers
think i'll wait a couple of days servers not coping with demand

Heck knows why, I think I just sort of lost faith with them actually fixing any of the major problems - that and I think it was beginning to get just a little bit on the "been there, done that" side of things.

im getting around 400k/s from the torrent.

I just picked up the complete collection. BF2+SF+EF+AF for £4.98. It has now replaced the two sets of cracked discs.
Might give it a go again. Put 600 odd hours in since the release, more than any other game I've played.
As long as there is still teamwork, should still be fun.

How so? I was playing it this morning at 1920x1200 and it looked great. The HUD was stretched but that's not really an issue to me and it doesn't look bad.
I didn't play this nearly enough back in the day so this is a good excuse to get back into it.
