    Assassins Creed Pc or Xbox

have got assassins 2 on xbox and originally owned the xbox version of assassins creed but i traded it in.
The missus is gonna re buy it for me for xmas so was wondering if the directors cut on the pc is worth buying or should i jusr get the xbox version again.

Pc spec is pretty good so running it should not be an issue (core i5 750 @3.6 4gb ram and gtx260)

The main thing i am worried about is the controls can i plug in my wired 360 controller and it will run fine on that.

Also what exactly do you get extra in the directors cut.

In that case go for the pc version then

You can use the xbox 360 controller on the pc using the charging wire so it should be fine

Re: Assassins Creed Pc or Xbox

I would go with the 360 version mate, at least there is no messing when it comes to patches and the controls on Assasins is geared more towards console play

Re: Assassins Creed Pc or Xbox

I've got it on PC. I would go for that. If you've got a decent Res monitor it will look prettier on the PC with your spec. ANd let's face it the best thing about AC is the sheer brilliance of the graphics and cinematography. I used a 360 controller with it and it works pretty flawlessly.

I suppose I'm biased but you can whack all the settings up nice and high on the PC.

The PC version. You can use the mouse and keyboards. Controls are quite easy, just the Shift, Space, WASDEF keys and the mouse. Plus if you have a DX10 (or better) graphics card and Windows Vista/7 you can enjoy the better graphics that they put into the PC version. The Xbox 360 version was only capable of DX9 graphics.

Re: Assassins Creed Pc or Xbox

The 360 controller is fully recognised on AC1 so i'd assume it would be on AC2 - even comes up press 'A' etc to jump.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

If you put em side by side, I'd bet a tenner the PC set up looks better and crisper. Colours might look different too. Personal preference whether you prefer crisper smaller screen or bigger not as crisp.

Got to be the former for me. I play this at 1920x1200 and it looks superb. i've tried it through my 32" HD Sammy TV and it just doesn't look as good. In fact I have them set up side by side I could even whack my resolution down to your resolution and have a direct comparison. If you want I can report back with findings...

thats alright mate cheers. It's more an issue of i like playing the xbox on the big telly less of a strain on my old eyes and as somebody said no patches to worry about and no compatibility issues with my hardware or OS, i'll probably go with the xbox version if theres little difference in actual game content.

I had both and the only issue I found it when ya do anything on pc (entering combat, get a flag, run away) It would stall for a second and then continue. Found out it was sending information to the main servers so that the devs could keep track of what people were doing in the game, so disconnected from the internet while play, runs better that the 360 version and prettier to . I got it off steam on a sale no idea how much it is now
