    Problems with EVE Online

OK, I've tried the EVE forums, but really want an answer to this soon, so will ask here too.

FYI, system spec as in sig below.

I have downloaded the latest Cats (4.7), have ALL the available windows updates installed except SP2, not sure about the BIOS for my board but can check that and have all the patches for EVE (you need them to play, so that's obvious). I also have all components set at stock speeds for the time being.

My problem is that very time I play this, my system crashes, sometimes badly. It'll just reboot, no warning or anything. I know that has something to do with XP not showing the BSOD though. I don't think it can be a heat or power issue as I have no problems what so ever in any other games, online or offline. I can even play all games with my graphics card overclocked which is why I don't think it's a heat issue. It does seem strange though how it just crashes after a few minutes of play, sometimes enough to leave the dock and make a jump to another system, but not much more.

Anyone play EVE and know enough about it, or had similar problems to this? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank in advance.

eve is well known to regularly CTD, not sure about the reboots though, sure its the game and not your system? could be lack of power to ram/cpu, cables loose or whatever.
i know the latest patches do tend to throw up some issues, tried another machine?
not known of a game causing bsod's before, more likely the game causing high load and therefore system problems. i only ever got occasional (once a day at most) CTD's, some people get more. id turn off the auto reboot option first, check it IS bsod's, and then test other games, stability tests like prime95/memtest86/toast etc.
er, if your northbridge fan is humming loudly, disconnect it. _dont_ kick the side of the case, it _will_ break it.
    i know :/

No, it doesn't crash to desktop, it just reboots. When I disabled the automatic reboot feature of XP, it just hangs and requires a hard reboot, no BSOD.

It can't be lack of power, or any system stability issues as I've stated my machine handles ALL other games like FarCry, CoD, LO:MAC, UT2004 etc very well. Playing online is solid as a rock for all games I play online too.

Prime95 tests jack **** for stability, not worth my time IMHO. memtest I have run before and didn't get any errors. Dunno what toast is. 3DMark2001 and 03 run perfectly without any glitches.
