Gran Turismo 3: Pikes Peak Suzuki Monster

Sair's mate came round Sat night....we played Tekken a while...and then the second TV came downstairs, the "i-Link" was joined and the 2 PS2's became one divine gaming haven

Now...me and Sair dont race much, but I'm OK at it, when I drop into it.....and Sair does well with certain cars....

BUT her mate has clearly done it all.....and so I had to try this thing....

1800bhp......had to pull away in 4th with Traction Control off......not normal....not normal at all.

Even on the loose, it hit over 300 on most straights.,.......

and on the Alps rally stage, backwards.......not well at all....

AIRBORN ...I am sure Icould get that OUT OF THE STAGE

What on EARTH possesed them to include that thing in GT3

lol thats what made me buy gt3 (it was in gt2 also) it is a real car i guess once u tune it and get -/+ 2000bhp it does get a bit silly and it can take off!

You must do the 1000m run and tune the car gear ratios etc to a certain spec and the car does a wheelie at about 750m and then starts to shake and momentarily take off.

I spent days tuning cars on that game, i have production cars that can keep up with the F1 cars :/

Escudo's fast but handles like a dog, my R33 liner keeps up with it until it hits 4th gear

No point down tuning it though, you might as well just use one of the F1 cars.

As a definition of GT3 on PS2 for the benefit of the non PS2 people here:

The graphics take time to appreciate....I mean it is clearly bloody great, but its only with TIME you see the fine detail involved.

PS controllers take an AWEFULL lot of practice. It is not an easy thing to have accelerate and brake on poxy push in button

PS2 afficianandos will tell you that the throttle has a middle area, but Ill be buggered if I can feel it. It simply needs a Dream Cast controller

The size of GT3 is simply incredible with the largest selection of upgrades, settings, and cars to choose from.

There are some bloody hard races....and some dead easy ones. As with all the best games.....finding your own way thorugh the licenses and races is daunting, and then suddenly, second nature.

And it now UK law that you go play it soon, or go to prison

gotta disagree with you here m8e... accelerate and brake is just a roll of the right thumb...

if you've got the original PS2 Dual Shock Analogue controller then the buttons are Analogue as well, meaning there no longer an on/off affair and are more like the Analogue Sticks of old... the harder you push the more 'on' it is...
you need to feather the throttle button.. as you'd feather the throttle whilst in a 109 on takeoff it takes time and practice... i can vouch for the quality of the throttle as if you back off enough on a straight you can keep the car at a certain revs..

An amazing selection of cars.. from Mini's to TVR's.. and all tunable to your hearts content...

and there are some bloody long races as well.. endurance races.. where if you dont turn off the Dual Shock before you start playing your wishing you'd turned it off about 20 minutes into a 2 hour race

Yep.. and I think it should be made a part of the Driving Test... y'know you've got to get a standard Prelude round laguna seca in less that x time
