Seriously stuck in Nova Prospekt (3 automatic guns and loads of Combine)

I'm really stuck on the section of Nova Prospekt where you're given three automatic sentry guns and attacked by loads of Combine. Just wondring if anyone has any tips for this section, as I can't get out with my life, let alone minimal health/HEV power.

It's pissing me off so much I don't want to play the game any more.

Goto one of the cells either side of the room, line up the 3 guns pointing at the opening, stand behind them and let the carnage commence. Hope this helps.

Presume by cell you mean opening? You know which part I'm talking about?

Well that saw me slaughtered pretty quickly. The problem comes when the guns are knocked down by a Combine soldier/grenade. I can use the gravity gun to set them back up again, but usually get hacked down in the process.

Well in case you haven't already noticed the guards only come when you've put the 3rd sentry in place. So at first make sure you've charged up your health + shield (suit I mean) and have picked up as much ammo as possible. The guards come in waves from different areas. As spazman said though a possibly easy way to do it is to hide in one of the cells with the sentries parked on the exit. You can also take a sentry with you from the previous part (control room?) where Alyx has reprogrammed them to fire on the combine but to be honest you shouldn't need it. If you hide in a cell be ready to kill any 'strays' and if one or more guns gets knocked down pick them up again (in between each wave of guards)... Not to show off but I did this first time (in a bit of a panic though!) by placing a sentry on each exit and keeping back and picking off the guards. Just make sure you pick the sentries back up again as the guards will try and knock them down

I set up the guns in the corrodors and then when they came i hid in the place where the guns were, and got my shotgun out Then they can only come at you from one direction, if it moves, shoot it

Just pick them up (press e) don't use the grav gun (takes MUCH longer to put them back in place with the grav gun!)

I moved the barrels and crates to block up two of the entrances, if you stack them high enough, the combine dont come through (says a lot for the AI). I sat myself in the room with the health and shield generator things and placed the sentry guns defensively around that room. Place the guns up against a wall which makes them much less vulnerable to being knocked over and 'nade attacks.

After you have done this u got two options. Sit there with the shotgun and take out any combine who make it past your defences, and pickup (i.e. not gravity gun) any turrets that are knocked, or sit there with the gravity gun and pick up and nades that are thrown your way and lob them back whilst picking up any knocked over turrets. Or both . Good luck.

A facing down, B facing up, C facing left and me in the room behind it. Make sure A and B are right agaisnt the wall near one of the bits that stick out slightly. Generally (well for me anyway) the AI went for the immediate threat, ie the one shooting at them but to get to that they have to run passed at least one other. Any grenades I see i picked up with the grav gun and lobbed back.

If your the thrifty type you can carry the turets from the first part to the second, altough it is a bit tricky to get them across that water, its not impossible.

Yamangman, the piling things up technique worked like a charm. I'm now stuck in Anticitizen One. After the combine have been cleared from the two buildings, and the barricade opened, where do I go?

I also now realise why people complain about the squad getting in the way

Not quite sure where you are. How about a screeny. If its when you go through a house on the left to get to the side of the barricade then you will need to go up onto the barricade and further up via catwalks into the building.

It's alright, I'm way past that now. I've just met up with the group of resistance fighters being shelled by the Combine, but I'm going back to play it again, as I'm losing way too much suit energy for my liking.
