    Post Scriptum: The Bloody Seventh

Didn't see a thread for this, or any mention of it so far, so I thought I'd chuck one up here...

    http://postscriptumgame.com/

Developed by Periscope Games, Post Scriptum is a WW2 simulation game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battles, a difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork.

Building on the game mechanics used in Squad, Post Scriptum is set in the Ruhr Area during Operation Market Garden and the Battle fo Arnhem. Players choose bewtween German Army or Allied airborne units.

Watching some early videos of this, I'm extremely impressed, to the point where I've pre-ordered ready for release date... No DLC, no Loot Crates, none of the P2W stuff that has spoiled so many games... but better than that, the team-centric mechanics of the game means the playerbase have been quite vehement in booting anyone who doesn't tow the line - Bunny-hopping twitch-shooting lone wolf griefers are not welcome here... and not only do the players punish bad behaviour, the game itself does as well. You can't spend your time spawn-camping and sniping by pixel, as you just end up dying. Everyone has a role to play and if you want to win, you need to play your role.

Actual roles vary, with over 40 vehicles including tanks, logistics, artillery, squad command, air support, forward observers and so on. Every bit of kit has been modelled from the original pieces, be it water bottles, webbing, machine guns or tanks.
Especial attention has been given to the sounds of weapons and vehicles, too, so the Bren gun sounds like a proper Bren gun, the Tiger tank rolling at you sounds like a proper Tiger tank, and when you hear the wailing Jericho Trumpet siren of a dive-bombing Stuka..... well, you utterly cack your pants!!

On a personal note, they have mortars in this (a favourite of mine) and they're actually quite realistic for a game... certainly more than I've seen in any other!!

Anyone else excited to get stuck in on this one?
