Black Mesa - Half Life remake Documentary

A detailed look at the Half Life remake, Black Mesa.

I played the mod version almost 10 years ago, I have to say I wasn't overly thrilled and it didn't make me want to play it any more than the original.
Having watched most of this documentary, it now looks very playable with all the changes they've done in the last decade.

I bought this a while back, was very impressed but then again it's HL but prettier so that's obvious. I don't think I actually finished it though, this has reminded me!

Do I want to revisit something with such fond memories?

Re: Black Mesa - Half Life remake Documentary

I thought the same, but did enjoy playing through. A few sections have been altered but the memories are still there, and Xen isn't awful now which is a big improvement.
I paid £3.74 for it though, it's £15 at the moment I think.

I'm trying to remember my specs when I first played it, maybe a PII with a slotket and some sort of Voodoo card, does that sound about right?

EDIT: I'm really trying to remember now, I had a PIII Katmai, maybe that was using the slotket but that was released post 1998, I had a K6 2 I think, definitely remember MMX ! I also had a Voodoo3 (PCI I think) so that takes me to 1999-ish

    That made me think!
Mine would have been a AMD K6-2 3D Now! Sadly I can't remember the exact model, but 533MHz comes to mind. Coupled with a RivaTNT 128.

...and does everyone remember the HL2 source leak? I downloaded that and stared in amazement at the Antlions and attempted to play the buggy mess that it was

Yes think I downloaded that, made no sense of it and deleted it.

My graphics card was a TNT something I think and had the K6 after making the mistake of getting a Cyrix

I was wasted an entire summer on that game the first time round. I'm not wasting another. plus with a sprog on the way I'll never get the time to do so again anyway!

Haha, yeah old PCs. I played the demo in the Leeds showroom of Evesham Vale so we couldn't leave without the Voodoo 3 on the spec list. Not sure what the rest of it was though!
