Question Online multiplayer PC games that have heavy use of mics and are a laugh

I have always used a 5.1 speaker system to play games but I loved PUBG back in 2017-2019. It was basically mandatory to use a microphone to do well, so it is the one game I've used a headset for, and I met some nice people playing it.

    I miss the experience.

I am looking for games that also have this 'vibe' - where a lot of people have mics and you can have a good laugh whilst playing.

I have heard good things about Rust and Lethal Company.

    Any other suggestions?

Loved Rust 10 years ago, hosted my own server and was a great laugh.
I had a lot more time, and a lot more friends with similar interests back then so it was easy to get 5 people on, especially useful when being attacked/raided.

While you can get some good enjoyment out of being a solo player, it's few and far between, that said I made a genuine friend out of the experience, we still have the odd game of something every now & again.

I've tried to go back to Rust a couple of times since then, but it's not something you can play in bursts. You do have to dedicate time as people will take over or destroy your base if left un-touched for long periods, or more annoyingly, the server is wiped.

There are plenty of servers still.

I haven't kept up with it for the last 5 years, I don't know what directions it's taken in terms of gameplay changes and development goals.

My son loves Lethal Company, from what I gather (I don't play MP myself) mic use seems core to the game, you can chat if you're within a certain distance of each other, if you're loud on your mic enemies can hear you, if your team mates die by a certain enemy type it can mimic them talking to try and lure/fool you.

I've been playing Lethal Company with 3 friends, in-game voice chat is a critical element of the game. It's been great fun for the £8 asking price, but you really need 3 friends to play with. Recommended for a group of 4.
