I want to buy a present for my 10-year old nephew. I have no idea what's around in small, hand-held, portable consoles at the moment. Are there any packages that include a console and a handful of games that I could get for under £100? The console is going to be used in another country so it must be able to run on batteries or have an AC adapter that can be used around the world.
Probably the Nintendo DS. In fact, definately, my brothers got the Advance SP and it just doesn't cut it. Look hard enough and you can find a DS for around £70... i think...
Agreed, the DS is the way to go for sub £100.
Dont waste money on the last generation handhelds.

I was initially looking at the Game Boy Colour but I guess this is quite old. If I could get the DS with a couple of games for <£100 that would do the trick. Is E-Bay the best place to get one at a good price? Most of the ads are Hong Kong based so I may not get the product in time. I really need it within a week.

I have a DS and it is a really nice little console, couple of my work mates have bought PSP's and whilse very nice there are a couple of drawbacks I feel, firstly forget giving it to a kid once you get hold of one you will see why as it could so easily end up a £200 paperweight. Also battery life is terrible compared to the DS, seems that screen just sucks up the power, have to say though it IS a very very nice screen.
