Battlefield 1942 anthology problem - out of range?

    Hi

I just go the battlefield 1942 anthology and whenever I try to start the game my monitor says 'out of range' on it.

I can ctrl+alt+del and end it through task manager but I can't get any further with loading the game. I've even tried setting it to run only at 640x480 in the compatability settings in the shortcut, but it stil says out of range at me.

Check out my system spec in the sig or on the left to see what I'm trying to run it on.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Tim

resfresh rate/resolution is wrong, no ide where in the config files youd override it, you may also be able to do it in the command line options somewhere, at least until you can get it changed in game

Simple answer is your monitor can't cope with the refresh rates bf1942 wants to run at.

There are a few ways round this:

    1) use software like refreshLock, ATI tool, refreshForce to force your refresh rate to 60 or 70 all the time.
    2) get a better monitor (probably not an option i know!)
    3) If 1) doesnt work, try disabling the intro movies (a pain to do, look in hte config file and if you can't see anything there you need to rename all the video files to .bak and then create empty text files with the same name/extension, that way the game wont play them and it may load

    hope that helps you

Got it sorted thanks to RefreshLock!

    Thanks!
