Christ, didn't see that one coming. I was fully expecting a Renaissance: Total War etc. I disliked the movement system used in Rome: Total War; let's hope this psuedo-sequel amends it.

as long as i get to have huge battles with tens of thousands of people then i dont mind...

unlike games like command and conquer its actually supremely tactical which is how i like it...

im sure they will do a great job on it... i want it

If it runs like it looks in the screenshots, you'll need a computer that can melt through the floor

Guys, just been reading that IGN interview:

IGNPC: What civilizations will be represented? What are some of the defining abilities and units of some of your favorite civilizations? Any cool historical battles to take advantage of these civilizations?

Bob Smith: There will be 21 playable factions for custom battle and multiplayer. England, France, Scotland, Holy Roman Empire, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Milan, Venice, Papal States, Sicily, Poland, Russia, Hungary, Byzantium, The Turks, Egypt, The Moors, The Mongols, The Tumurids, The Aztecs.
So, it appears this game will be stretching into the new world as well?

    From totalwar.com:

A huge campaign spanning from the years 1080-1530, that will take the player beyond the first Crusade up until the dawn of the renaissance. An extended campaign map will allow passage to South and Central America bringing the player into battle with the Aztecs.

Well, when I played it after enabling it through modding (takes bloody ages ), I found it to be the best country to play as. Of course, I tried enabling the Sahara, but that seems to crash when everyone does it.

Never played Medieval, got Shogun and Rome though and I love rome, although they need to bring in some of the old features from shogun.

I liked in shogun how certain regions produced better cavalry or archers and how you got a description of the region in a scroll when you right clicked on it. In rome when you right click you just get a "fertile plain/dense woodland"

I don't know what medival is like though, I might have to check it out.
