Who has a 360 Play and Charge kit

I have some strange problems happening; not sure how they are supposed to work.

Sounds brain dead but here is what I am seeing.

    I have:

Premium Console - 2 Wireless pads, 2 Play and charge kits.

If I plug one of the pads and the Play and Charge kit in - Should it be "red" the LED on the charge kit when charging?

Because one of mine is like that, but the other doesn't go red - yet when I have it plugged in and I am playing - it says it is dead (battery wise) but after a while I can unplug the controller?

    Confused...

I threw away the manual without reading it - I presume the red light = good news, no red light = ack nae!

    From reading this:

Looks like I might have a dead/damaged battery pack - time to go and experiment

Right, played with it (wish I had read the manual )

Turns out one of my battery packs is dead / dodgy.

    Pad1 + Battery1 = Fine
    Pad2 + Battery1 = Fine
    Pad1 + Battery2 = No red light
    Pad2 + Battery2 = No red light.

The battery appears to get some juice but not enough.

Will switch to AA's if I want to use it wireless, if not I will wait until someone has them in stock.

Got the P&C kits from SCAN - not worth RMA'ing it due to the fact it will cost me 2/3 quid postage to get it back to them - and the batterys are £9.99, and the P&C kits are £14.99 so will wait for it to come in stock in a high street store.

Damnit - first dodgy piece of H/W.

Meh I bought a set of re-chargables. 8 x AA's for £8 and I just use one set and keep the other set charged. Whole lot cheaper and you NEVER have to have wires

    Correct!

You know you don't need to keep buying the play and charge kits? you can just buy more battery packs and charge your other wireless controlers with your existing kit.

Yeah but finding the battery packs in stock isn't easy

Also if you look at the specs of the battery pack and the P&C kit the P&C kit's battery has 10 hours more play time or something. Might just be an error though, havn't checked it out recently.
