    Talking HEXUS Hidden Source Server

HEXUS now have a hidden server. Pretty sure it's the first one on efrag too since I had to ask to get it .

    play.hexus.net:27016

There's not really much to say except 'there's your IP'.

For those who don't know much about hidden, the best way to describe it is that it's like playing against predator from the film. There are 2 teams - IRIS and hidden. The aim of the IRIS team is to kill the hidden and vice versa. The person who's hidden is not completly invisible, but more semi-transparent, like predator. However, to make it so it's not a one sided game, the hidden only has 2 weapons - grenades and a knife. He also is able to see through walls (Q), and pounce off walls and stuff (CTRL).

Bit of advice - before you play as hidden, make sure you remember to bind the 'pig stick' action to a key. This is like a secondary knife attack that kills in one.

There's also 2 modes. First mode is a bit like CS, where the aim is to kill the other team, and you just sit out until everyone's dead. Second mode is much better imo, however it's only avaliable on three of the maps atm. On that mode, the hidden has unlimited lives, and if an IRIS player is killed by the hidden, then they become hidden immediatly. That means you spend less time being dead .

I think I've pretty much covered it all. Myself and lysander (Atrull) have played this a fair bit now, so any question, just ask, or see the users guide .

Please remember to drop into #hexus.cs on quakenet. There's usually some people in there who are up for a game.

    it rocks hard

I enjoy all modes tbh, but the 'over-run' mode where anyone the hidden kills becomes hidden is better for fast-paced play.

in over-run, once the second las iris member is dead, the hidden have to kill the last one within 15 seconds to win, or iris win. tip: don't kill the second last guy until the last guy has been located i.e. attack them both at the same time ;D

Saw this on the server browser the other day and popped in. Overrun mode is OK, but standard play is best - far more panic inducing and you have a whole lot more fun as the Hidden.

As for Pigstick. Pah, real Hidden only use slash. Nah, PS has a time and a place, but I prefer to try and use it as little as possible unless IRIS are really working well together. Not much left to pin up otherwise.

Apparently, if you just knive someone and not use pigstick, so they don't explode, you can gain 25 health from their body. I can't rememeber if you knive the body or press 'E', but I'm sure I remember reading that .

I hate to tell you this, but CS is also based on HL - it's just a HL mod like all the rest .

might be worth trying 'normal' mode but with random hidden selection. It does get a bit carp otherwise.

Correct - kill them the decent way by slashing (Pigstick is great whilst your learning or if the server's full but cmon use the slash when it's not people!) then keep slashing at the body. You'll get a max of 25 hp back from em. Thing is whilst you're doing this you make a racket and you're easy to find. Slash then aura 360, slash aura 360 etc. If you're found just pounce out.
