the games press are addicted to a scheme that says "this game may only be average, but if i'm 'harsh', i lose out on advertising dollars". as a result, there is a general feeling that 70-75% is "average". hint: it's not. average games, for me, score firmly in the 5/10 department. i've played above average and below average games. i've played great games and poor games. i've played phenomenal games and completely unplayable games.
"fun" games, to me, score highly. gears of war will need to be something very special for me to give it more than a cursory "average fps" rating. viva pinata looks like it could be fun, and will get a correspondingly longer look.
currently, the 360 title i'm waiting for is resident evil 5 - RE4 was a killer app, so if 5 can keep up the momentum, it'll be the trigger game for me to buy a 360
The game I'm looking forward to most at the moment is Forza Motorsport 2.
I'm a sucker for racing games.

But it still early days for a console, i always remember the original Metal Gear Solid which was a great game in tearms of graphics, sound presentation and gameplay and this came out near the end of the PS one's hay day as opposed to the start, jury still out at the moment
the percentage of the market who are "hardcore pc gamers" with joypads is, to be frank, pointlessly small.Originally Posted by zulander
pc sales don't account for much of the full-priced game sales, and carry high overheads (support costs that don't exist for console publishers). there's no logical reason for them to do it
Well I just went and bought it!
My only question is how does the power compare to PS3? And, is it really more powerful than any current PC?
The PS3 isn't out yet, but on paper the PS3 should be slightly more powerful. We'll just have to wait and see.Originally Posted by skewed
