Counter Strike 1.6 Server List Lag Problems

Whenever I search for servers without any filters or anything, I get about up to 120 servers, (takes ages to get there) and the latency next to servers is into the 1000s...yet whne I'm in a ping, I never go over 50 and there's no lag at all.

I've forwarded all ports, firewalls and router, I'm even in my routers dmz atm. Anyone got an idea what's going on?

cant u filter the list to show latency <100 ?? or does this happen for uk servers aswell?

Happens for UK aswell, and if I filtered the list I'd get no servers coming up

Oh well, get my gaming laptop tuesday so source then, hopefully it won't have the same problem

I'm sure I read that BT block or curtail Steam traffic.

I wonder whether they are thottling your bandwidth when you are trying to play CS
