Pro Evo and Fifa Exclusive to Xbox 360 (next gen)

This could be good news for microsoft in Europe having pro evo and fifa tied up for a year on next gen. The usual ps2 versions etc will still be out but with the three new consoles only the 360 gets them for a year (according to reports on the press conference).

Personally i cant wait for it, i love my footie games and come october thats going to be my gaming time taken up

i can't really see electronic "release it for every platform under the sun, including colecovision" arts really making their second-biggest franchise specific to only one platform with a small user base

yeah me either. i'd be very surpised if the ps3 didnt get both in the series as soon as possible - they're big selling games - i would think it might be pro evo 7 thats the first to hit the ps3, as 6 has already been out for 4 months in japan..

The announcement was made at the Game Convention in Leipzig.

I'm not sure what to make of it just yet, interesting news for certain, but somewhat difficult to believe. The FIFA and Pro Evo series are huge, surely Microsoft couldn't have secured exclusivity for an entire year?

I'm waiting for Hexus' article, see if we actually get to know word for word what was actually said at the conference.

ah the difference is, its fifa 07 and pro evo 6. no mention of 'fifa legends for the ps3' or 'pro evo 6.5' not being on the system?

I had a listen and this is exactly what was said:

I'm really pleased to be abled to announce here today that Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be an XBOX360 next generation exclusive for the next 12 months.
I'm also really happy to be able to announce that FIFA 07 will also be a next gen exclusive on XBOX360 for the next 12 months.
So, whether you prefer FIFA 07 or Pro Evo Soccer 6, as a football fan well you need look no further than XBOX360 because you won't be able to get them on any other next generation platform.
XBOX360 owns football.

It's all nonsense in my opinion, I think we'll see some form of FIFA and Pro Evo before you know it.

Was hilarious when we said "XBOX360 owns football", he really emphasised the word owns and it was so geeky it was almost cool.

"next gen exclusive" means ps2/xbox/psp/ds/cube/pc versions - basically, no wii or ps3

maybe wii *will* be allowed, since it's not considerednext-gen by HD-humping sony/microsoft

Got to agree with directhex here...read the wording very carefully and it just turns out to be marketing hype which actually just means:

"Pro Evo 6 hasn't been developed for the PS3 and Pro Evo 7 won't be out for 12+ months so we can say Pro Evo is a 360 Exclusive!"

It will be out on all of the older consoles and the PC. Same goes for FIFA.
