ROTT was excellent, shareware was such a great idea back then when there was no warez scene... need to make an old computer, whack dos 6.22 and win 3.11 back on it and play some games...
aswell as rott, there was wolfenstein3d, that was good, got the full game off a friend iirc, somehow completed it, well the first episode at least... duke nukem 1 and 2 were good.. used to play duke3d with a gamepad, had the full game of that top game also... hmm what else.. biohazard was a good game, used to play that quite a lot, had the shareware version and every level after a certain point (like after level 12 or soemthing), you had to wait about 1min for the adverts to try to get you to buy the game...
hmm what else.. 'framed' i think it was called, got of a demo disk, that was fun, decent wasnt bad, obviously doom and heretic and stuff where cool too..

    oh the memories

    mark

    edit :

ones i've forgotten (no doubt i'll add some more later )

    - raptor : call of the shadows
    - c&c (and covert operations addon, despite the fact the addon missions were too hard for me )
    - commander keen!!! how did i forget that! so cool
    - jazz jackrabbit! another classic
    - epic pinball (even my dad used to play that)
    - jetpack, and jetpack christmas edition. wonderful games
    - secret agent!
    - the something caves one, which was like secret agent, cant remember the name now... such cool games

Haha! Oh my god, was that a platform game type thing, where you pretty much had to give newspapers and things to people, to get more items/info? Fun game (per chance it was the same one!)

hmm. superspeed or something, kinda like micromachines but you collected spanners to get upgrades. that was a good game, as twigman says, BRR was good, can remember playing that on a friends p60! which was stupidly faster than my 486 considering it was 6mhz slower ...

edit:: (i prefer edits rather than double posting heh)

TFX!! i used to love that game, was so funny with a mouse as you could make the plane flip and spin rather than turn slowly with a joystick/keyboard... i was brought up on DOS games its amazing how everythings changed in 8 or so years

What? No one's mentioned Xwing? I must have wasted so many hours on that....
That and Sensible Soccer (and the rest of the Amiga ports), Gunship 2000 and f19 stealth fighter, Wolf3d, Gods and Speedball 2....

And to echo Raz306, Terra Nova. Possible the best game I've ever played - it felt so ahead of its time.

Doom, I liked very much, but...Lo Wang rules! Sorry...I know it's sad, but I LOVED Shadow Warrior.

wolfenstien3d's graphics made me feel sick, sorta like sea sickness though ive never got that... turok2 also made me feel sick the same way.
big red racing was great, i remember playing on the italy map with the sheap you could run over on the jump thing!
a bit more recent, carmegeddon, i spent AGES playing that has to be one of my fravorite games (it was dos, ya? though think i ran the win version?)
so.. dos games either make me feel sick or it involves runnig things over, yay
