Xbox 360 games - what to look out for?

Hello all,

I've ordered myself a 360 and was wondering if some of you who have one could tell me what are the key upcoming games for the console in 2006/07.

I've already seen screenshots for Alan Wake, COD3, Rainbow6: Vegas, Halo 3.

Is there any games I should be keeping an eye out for?

Gears of War is the big one for this year I think. Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is the one I, personally, can't wait for. FIFA 07 comes out on the same day for the 360 if you're that way inclined, though. Most sites are still saying Forza Motorsport 2 is coming out in November. I doubt it will come out this year, but it would be awesome if it did. I've played the Lost Planet demo and it looks amazing, though I think it's release date might mean it'll get pushed to the bottom of the pile considering all the other shooters coming out pre-Xmas. Assassin's Creed looks brilliant, definitely watch the videos for that. Then later on in 2007 there's UT2007 and GTA IV.

Don't forget to check out games that are already out there such as Oblivion, Prey and Fight Night Round 3 for example. All are excellent games well worth considering.

WORD! I'm pretty much getting the 360 now to play this on live.

I'm disappointed the editing mode is really cut down on the 360 compared to the ps2 but at least the graphics and animatiosn will be nicer!

Halo 3 is an obvious choice, but there's a load of cool games coming out pretty soon.

Gears of War looks incredible.
Forza Motorsport 2.
Project Gotham Racing 4 has been confirmed (but probably won't see light until 2008) - this is my favourite racing series ever.
Too Human - another cool looking 3rd person game, and is supposed to be the first of an epic trilogy.
Call of Duty 3 as you mentioned.
Huxley - an MMORPG using the Unreal Engine 3 (same as GoW).

I would go with Bioshock, looking awesome already.

Granted it is also a PC title but should imagine it is going to be something special on the 360 also.

There's a demo available via Live Marketplace, I gave that a go when it was released but it gave me major headache. People walking on walls and everything!

Seconded, I'm really looking forward to mass effect and assassins creed looks awesome too. I'm also looking at:

Halo 3
Gears of War
Lost Planet
Halo Wars might be good if Ensemble pull it off well

Don't forget games that are already out, you should look into;

Dead Rising
Saints Row
Lego Star Wars II (my newest and scarily now my most played game)
Tomb Raider: Legends can be snapped up for about £20 now, I think it's well worth that amount if you enjoyed the other Tomb Raider games.
