Arrow Sega sues Fox and E.A

Seag are sueing Fox entertainment and E.A, Claiming that simpsons road rage infringes on a Sega patent (due to the similarity of crazy taxi) Sega is requesting that Simpsons Road Rage sales cease and that copies be removed from shelves. They are also asking for damages related to apparent lost profits...

well i side with sega on this, purely because Road Rage is such a painfully POOR clone it doesn't DESERVE to be sold.

I am no lawyer but I really cannot see Sega winning this case.

The implications of such a victory would certainly be interesting. Good or bad though? I am not sure. Some games borrow from previous games yet improve on the concepts. We do not what this sort of evolution being stopped. However, there are also many blatant rip offs.

Yeah, Road Rage is very much like Crazy Taxi and the new one (Hit & Run) is like Driver.

Definately understand how SEGA feels on this one. As for pulling off the shelves, Its been out a while now so a bit pointless really. Same thing happened many moons ago with Mario, Rainbow Arts released Great Giana Sisters and that got pulled. Also happened with Katakis (aka Denaris) by US Gold as it was very much like Irems R-Type (Released on home computer by Activision). Thing with Katakis was that it was better than the home versions of R-Type !
