Question Xbox 360 - Auto Update

Can anyone tell me if once you have your 360 online and on live, it receives updates, like windowsupdate for the pc?

reason i ask, is recently i got my other halfs dad "live" and since then, his 360 keeps crashing or freezing when playing...

I have a feeling it will be going off for repair number 2 and seeing the other thread regarding extended warranty, might be worth taking out at this rate.

    Thanks

    Andy

Yes, if you 360 is on-line (with silver or gold subscription) you get patches. There is alot of stuff over the net that the latest patch that introduced 1080p (or i?) has screwed over alot of consoles and causes no ends of problems. Not much you can do about it untill they release the next patch. Maybe next time they will think back on this release and be a bit more careful.

Join the club... I had to get my 360 replaced thanks to this patch.

I'd get whoever you bought it from to replace it if its in warranty.

Yeah I always hear about things like this but never experience them my self... I also have 2 360s and neither have had any problem (one is connected to a 50" Panasonic Plasma and one is connected to a dell 2005FPW) both of which have had both 1080p updates, and so find it strange that problems are occuring even though we all have the same hardware :S

The hardware does vary from production run to production run, its not identical.
