Help me out here, anyone i the Tuxford/Worksop/Newark area?

Guys and girls, I need some help.

I'm relocating oop north and need to know your thoughts on the above areas.

I've spent the day driving around the Chesterfield area and I have to be honest and say that few of the surrounding villages such as Clay Cross and Bolsover have grabbed my fancy...

So now I'm looking to the east of the M1, beyond Mansfield over towards Retford, Tuxford and that sort of place.

Anyone got any experience of these places? Any areas to avoid and why?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Nick

My Wife comes from those neck of the woods, specifically Retford. If you let me know where your thinking of, I'll ask her and her parents if you like?

Apparently gateford isn't very nice. Was described to me as 'heroin land', don't know myself.

Mother in law says if you want to live in worksop try Kilton.

my gran lives in elkesley which is just outside of retford and a few miles up the A1 from tuxford, thats an ok place or atleast it was when i lived there a while back and being rather small i cant see it being bad now

as for worksop ahahahaha i dont think there is a good place in it tbh (maybe a slight exaggeration ) your probably better off outside in one of the smaller villages like carlton in lindrick, the windsor road area has some nice houses that back into woods/fields there or if you've got a bob or 2 the older east side of carlton

Oldcotes should be a nice spot aswell, though i'd avoid langold

    Alright Nick,

If you want some ideas for areas to look, if you give me some rough info, I'll ask the in-laws for ideas. They've lived in the area for 40+ years so know the area well.

    They've asked the following:

What area will you be working in?
How far do you want to commute to work?
How much you planning on spending?( i understand you won't want to discuss this with a random, but a ballpark would be good)
    Do you want suburb/village/don't care?

I'll understand if you don't want to give me too much detail (i know i wouldn't) but some might help us point you in the right direction.

Might be best to PM me, but I'll leave it up to you
