Music-wise I liked Finland & Muldova r0ck!
i watch it every year without fail
if its on and im in il choose to watch it
don't like it much but il sit through it if nothing else is on
hate it, wouldn't watch it even if some1 payed me
even santa made an apperance!
I don't know how...
I had it on for a while, but after half an hour i needed a trance fix...
I really can't stand it.
Where was the vote for
"I don't have a tv"
Thats my choice right there.....and TBH I didn't even know it was on...dont watch much bbc tv unless im at home (and even then it has to compete with my freesat...now free sky (I know ) tv)
I'm allergic to Eurovision song contests
I watch it just for the silliness of it everything - the songs, the costumes, the voting and, of course, Sir Terence.
Nice to hear a bit of big band from the Germans - makes a change.
"Well, there was your Uncle Tiberius who died wrapped in cabbage leaves but we assumed that was a freak accident."
Well done UK!!! The only good thing about our eurovision experience is terry ****ing wogan.
And I can't believe that Joe Pasquale (of the "i've got a song that'll get on your nerves" fame) impressionist/lesbian won?! Russia should have won... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXk18RdxPZM ... those girls are hot
p.s. we should have let justin hawkins represent us... europe must think we're a bunch of idiots for choosing those pop wannabe tit heads. Hell, one of them presents ITV play.
It's like a higher quality version of Pop Idol...
Dont watch it, wouldn;t understand most of them.
Sadly I was woking tonight, so it'll have to be enjoyed on video. I love it though- albeit that you have to sit through quite a bit of dross, the unintentionally funny songs, the intentionally funny songs, and the occasional Europop gem make it well worthwhile IMO.
The political voting is getting absurd though- I reckon they should ban countries from voting for their neighbours, because that'd pretty much sort it (and conveniently leave our 12 points from Malta in the bag).
I was going to it just for the voting because I love politics, but they'd changed it this year? Instead of everyone going through everywhere and places getting nul points, they were only reading the top votes - WTF is the point of that?
Ultimately again UK's result reflects its popularity in Europe....I remember Terry complaining about how unfair it is that UK got nul points and all we did was invade Iraq, and this year the text voters really took this on board and put in an entry that went "We are flying the flag all over the world..." Then we complain how this didn't go down well
Did anyone notice how the ex-eastern bloc, Eastern European countries voted exclusively for each other?
It wasn't until we got around to the Nordics and Balkans that anyone else got into the top ten... and even then it was only Turkey and Greece.
Still, I guess it goes to show that the days of headlines like 'Fog in the Channel, Europe cut-off' are looooong over.
Which I think actually serves to highlight the UK's position in Europe... we have no friends, none whatsoever... and even when Ireland tips a nod our way with a few points, we ignore them and give them nothing in return.
Serves us bloody right, tbh.
You know, all this does is to reinforce my belief that the UK, within Europe and on the global stage, is now a spent force... We've given the world the leg-up it needed with the Industrial Revolution but after World War 2 we were buggered... We've nothing left to offer the world in terms of technology, innovation or production.
We think we're still a global leader but if it came to actually doing something, we'd be like the kid who had boxing lessons and reckons he'd win in a street fight... we'd get our arses kicked before we even knew what was going on.
