I saw less than a minute of Big Brother last night and am now very angry...

Some of you may remember this post from early yesterday morning.

Well I just lost 50 seconds of my life switching channels after the movie I was watching finished.

What I've just seen, has made me so angry it's getting it's own thread in the morning!

Quite frankly what I saw broadcast on channel fours live big brother coverage was shocking....

I was channel hopping after the dvd I was watching finished and as flicked past channel four I saw there was live big brother coverage on, my own morbid curiosity compelled me to switch back and what I saw was quite frankly the grandest misuse of a public broadcast system ever.

There were half a dozen women sat discussing star signs, nothing all too uncommon until one of them decided to turn up the volume and hysterics where it really wasn't neccasary....

"oh my god you're a virgo?"

    "OHMYGOD!MYEXBOYFRIENDWASAVIRGO"

At this point I laugh, haha big brother have really put a stupid one amongst the bunch this year, then came the reply...

"Was he caring but guarded his emotions?? because thats just me all over"

At that point I had to change the channel and swear in quite a loud fashion...

I hope to god they weren't that stupid before they entered the house and its merely the effects of their undeserved fifteen minutes of fame kicking in. My major argument though isn't with how stupid the contestants are, I mean yes they probably do all bump into more walls than they should and I imagine when the men enter the house not one of them will be able to keep his knuckles from dragging in the dirt. But my arguments not really with them its with channel four. How can they justify broadcasting twelve vacuous lumps of dna that evolution obviously left behind to a national television audience?!

How is a program that showcases these fools one of the top television rating cash cows of the year? The answer to that questoin worries me, immensely. Obviously a big enough proportion of the U.K's television audience is so stupid that they not only allow channel four to keep doing this year after year, they actively encourage it and whine that they require better coverage!

Ridiculous coincidence, but I too saw that, and only that part!

I think I was flicking through the channels during the FTN ad-break.

The UK should do a survey with the following question.

    Do you watch Big Brother?

    Yes/No

Those that reply yes should be culled.

LOL do you not understand that people watching can be facinating?.

Watching the women check each other out last night and making their intial assumptions going on what people where like.

The reaction the entering the house with some dropping bag to get photos taken. and some ignoring the press.

What you are talking about is people being closed minded and stupid and the comment of Do you watch big brother and should you be culled if you do, IS as bad as watching it.

It doesn't mean i like the people but watching it can be interesting

I refuse to watch it, it's the biggest pile of pap ever to (dis) grace my television set.... I think they should lock all the housemates ( past and present ) including Davina McCall in the house and set it on fire...or maybe take votes on who should die first, sorry but I have no time for wannabes and airheads, how these shows can churn out idiots and call them celebrities is beyond me.

People watching is one of my favourite pasttimes, it doesn't cost any money and it's quite entertaining.

Big brother just means that I don't have to leave my house to do it. (there's only usually me in it, doesn't make for good people watching!)

I find that those moaning about watching are worse than those that do. As people have said, there has been 3 threads justified to how awful it is by people who have seen it.

At the end of the day you know it is BB and you will either like it or hate it (not many people are indifferent). Therefore why even watch it in the first place when you know you don't like it. No fire without smoke etc.

The guys in the house put it on last night, and I just walked out. Ok I had a rant but that was just at asking how anyone can sit there and watch it. Not a rant at how people can watch it because I had and then didn't like it. That strikes me as kind of hypocritical.

Personally I think that it would be more interesting if everyone escaped the house and gave Channel 4 nothing to show for however many weeks. Will serve them right.

Reality TV shows should be banned full stop.

Also from reading those quotes, I think about 5% of my brain just committed suicide, even though I was unable to make out what it said...
