Has anyone seen that? Where you have to stay awake for 7 days? I fall asleep watching the program, crap TV.

Heh, I'm quite interested in this from a scientific point of view, must be ridiculously hard to do!
I remembered when I messed my sleeping pattern up I forced myself to stay away ~48 to fix it only problem was after the 48th hour I hit a sort of euphoria and could of lasted another 24
One thing I learnt from it was that the SAS are trained to stay awake - in combat no less - for 4 days! quite impressive really.
Dread to think what the disclaimers are like when they signed up. Sleep deprivation can cause serious long term problems.....
a japanese person died due to sitting playing games for 68 hours i believe, so expect some deaths on shattered
im serious about the japanese guy tho..
AMD 64 3400, Geforce FX 5800, 2x 80GB HDD, ASUS K8V Deluxe, Kingston PC3200 1GB valueram.
The longest recorded time for someone staying awake was 11 days (with no permanent problems). So it's entirely possible, but bloody hard!
Apparently a nights sleep is all thats required to get back to normal.
I know what you're thinking, "No **** sherlock"
that guy died from DVT, coz he didnt move around enoughOriginally posted by sja360

i have been watching it and it is very interesting, I was woken up at 5:30 this morning by a burgular alarm this morning (whole nother story... but suffice to say I rang the guy up who owned the place and gave him a right earbashing this morning as this is not the first time that damn alarm has woken me up) and watching the show made me feel a whole lot better about how tired I was
tbh I think it is quite a challenge although they are getting to sleep for short periods throughout the week probably because if they didnt nobody would be able to make it to the end.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
i think it'll be interesting. maybe not to watch thou
i dont think anyone will make it. i've done 2 skipped nights on the trot - from 7am one day till 10pm 2 days later - thats 63 hours. i was hallucinating by the end of that and wasnt personally sure if i was asleep or not.
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
I applied for that, actually.. but the mail strike meant that my application form didn't get there until after the deadline. (Despite sending it so it would be there a day or two BEFORE it finished).
damn shame m8, would have been great to see a hexus lad on there!
I dont think I could do it, im irritable enough when i only get 6 hours kip in a night, I would be getting violent doing that I reckon.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
Well thats 112hours :/
And most of them look fine! (under the circumstances!)
Mind you they do get about 1 hours kip a day for safety reasons. That does help a fair bit I suppose......
Mind you, still damn hard!
Yeah but he didn't eat from what i heard hence why he died not because he was deprived of sleep although that doesn't help and leaves you vunerable to virus's etc.Originally Posted by sja360
Who else is out of the program?
All of the girls except Claire S. are out, thankfully... Really quite dirty skankies, they were...
A Maori guy came to do the midnight school thing, tonight - was quite funny how the guys got really into learning the Haka. Good TV, imo
