    IT Course

I'm looking for IT courses, mainly building and maintaining pc's networks and the like.
Can anyone suggest either: free courses or cheap but good course with reputible qualifications.
Need to learn at home as i'm looking after my 2 girls full time?

    Cheers in advance.

PS: I know i can look on open university, but i figured asking here where the experts are would be alot better

The OU courses are excellent, and you know you are with a reputable company (if that's the right term for the OU), unlike some others who have posted on this forum recently.

Go down your local job center and ask their advice on IT related courses, you may qualify for some govenrment funding (worth asking about).

However, from the sounds of it, the OU may be best, as you can do the work at your own pace (mostly at home), you would normally meet up with other students/tutor once a week and then a weeks residential learning at a college/university per year (it's great fun because you are with like minded people).

    Hope this helps.

Welcome, depends on your level of education on whether or not you would have to do an entry course, before going onto the IT course of your choice, but it is worth it (even fun sometimes).

Whats qualifications? I have a slip of paper with a bunch of U's and 5's on it

Entry level courses are always good as a refersher and to catch up on any changes. Besides it'll be fun.

I studied with the Open University. It's definitely the way to go, and you can add courses towards a diploma and then further down the line use those same courses to go towards the degree.
